Job Title : Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Reports to : CEO/President
SUMMARY
Responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations. Provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the company
PRIMARY RESPONSABILITIES
1. Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include budgeting, tax planning, and conservation of assets.
2. Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the company.
3. Ensure compliance with state budgetary reporting requirements.
4. Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry.
5. Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, financial planning, special analyses, and information reports.
6. Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
7. Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
8. Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
9. Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
10. Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.
11. Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas.
12. Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
13. Serve on planning and policy-making committees.
14. Oversee financial management of foreign operations to include developing financial and budget policies and procedures.
15. Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSABILITIES
1. Represent the company externally to media, government agencies, funding agencies, and the general public.
2. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff when required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
2. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
3. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting, five years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, and a CPA.
4. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Based in Paris
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
You will be involved in our research projects. You should be able to perform the following:
- in vivo animal experiments (mostly on mice ): care to the animals, drug preparation and administration (mostly intraperitoneal and per os injections)
- quantification of biomarkers, using a range of techniques including immunochemistry, histochemistry, immunoblotting and image analysis.
- basic IT skills in order to process data, perform results analysis and presentation for final reports.
You will contribute to the daily organisation of the lab.
Basic qualifications and key skills: BTS, DUT or BSc in Biological sciences. Experience of basic biochemistry and/or anatomy techniques (protein extraction and purification, cryostat sectioning, immunolabelling, optical microscopy). Experience of live rodents is a prerequisite. Possession of an authorisation to work on living animals is a distinct advantage.
You should possess good attention to details, be ready to learn new techniques if necessary and be a highly organised and enthusiastic team worker.
